Polylithic 1.0 Notes

The full release is real. The first-week bugs are also real.

1.0 Patch Notes

Polylithic spent years in Early Access after a November 2023 debut, then shipped 1.0 on 25 August 2026. Players who came back for the full release said the changelog was huge: fixes, systems, and a game that finally wanted to be finished. Players who arrived the same afternoon said buttons died, quests stalled, and multiplayer tore. Both groups can be right. This page is the context notes, not a stolen official paste.

Confirm every store sentence on the Steam page and the studio blog. This wiki is unofficial.

What 1.0 added to the pitch

The live pitch is the one this site writes against. Paleolithic forager to Neolithic farmer. Generated cooking experiments. Dogs and hyenas. Tribe members who become elders. Enemy tribes. Sandbox infinite worlds. Character customization and campfire emotes. Online co-op for up to nine friends. Full controller support. Steam Cloud. A trailer that knows it is funny.

If you last played in 2023, do not trust your memory about missing cats, missing enemies, or a smaller map. Read the review and then relearn flint in how to craft anyway, because that particular confusion never died.

What launch week still flags

These are player-facing leftovers, not a studio confession: frozen interactions after long sessions, quests that do not tick, carcasses that will not harvest, villagers who ignore work, followers who forget combat, ten-minute autosave gaps, and co-op desync. Until a post-1.0 patch note names them, treat them as live. Workarounds live in controls, villagers, story, and multiplayer.

How we will update this page

When indie.io or polyperfect publish a numbered patch, this page should grow a dated list. Until then, the honest note is: 1.0 is the patch. It is also the new baseline for every guide on this wiki. If a later hotfix lands, start here, then check whether the survival checklist still matches the first hour.

What to do while you wait for a numbered note

Play like the leftovers are features. Save after every hunt, not after every pretty screenshot. Keep a second character slot or a backup host if co-op is the point. If a quest refuses to tick, walk the objective once more, then check story before you burn another hour on a dead flag. If a villager stands in the fire, unassign, move the rack, and reread villagers. If a carcass will not harvest, leave, save, and come back before you assume the mammoth is a lore object.

This wiki will not invent patch numbers. When Steam news or the studio site posts a dated fix, this page should name the date and the player-facing change only. Until that sentence exists, treat 1.0 as both the content drop and the bug baseline. The system requirements page is still the right tab if the “bug” is a dying laptop.

If you are deciding whether to wait, wait for the first named hotfix if UI freezes ruin your mood. If you already like clumsy colony toys, buy, save often, and use the guides hub when a quest gaslights you. The announcement trailer on this page is the promise. The launch trailer on the review is the joke. The camp you build is the part you control.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

When did Polylithic 1.0 launch?

25 August 2026 on Steam for Windows, after Early Access that began in November 2023.

Is this an official changelog?

No. It is a fan summary. Use Steam news and polyperfect for official text.

Did 1.0 fix tribe AI?

It improved a lot versus old EA, and launch reviews still complain. See villagers.

Should I wait for a hotfix?

Yes if frozen prompts or desync would ruin the week. No if you already enjoy janky survival. The review is the buy call.
